“I shoot the way I see,” she told me, “I just take the picture I want to take.”

And I realized that I was talking to a follower of the Artistic Wild, soul deep, intuitive, and unyielding in her vision. Her eye is focused and it’s focused on her own heart and the strange beauty it sees. And god does she see beauty. I want to be more like that.

And she trusted me, wholly. So I let go and trusted me too. What a gift that was.
