I love shooting in-home family sessions. It’s such an honor to be welcomed into someone else’s personal space and allowed to see them for who they are. The ease with which the authenticity flows during these sessions is breathtaking. You don’t have to pose or buy new clothes. You don’t have to have a perfected curated and aesthetic home. You don’t have to clean top to bottom and ensure that nothing is out of place. All you have to do is show up exactly as you are and allow yourself to relax in your own space. It isn’t the environment that makes a great picture – it is the authenticity of your lived experience and your photographer’s willingness to dance with the intrinsic beauty of imperfection.
